Johns Creek Named Third Best Place For 1st Time Homebuyers
The city is the only Georgia place to clear the top 30 on the list compiled by NerdWallet.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The accolades keep rolling in for the city of Johns Creek.
NerdWallet, a website exploring various aspects of personal finances, has named the city the third best place in the country for first-time homebuyers.
According to the company's analysis, Johns Creek gained high marks for its "prosperity and livability scores."

It's also the only place in Georgia to clear the top 30. To come up with its list, NerdWallet reviewed 448 cities in the areas of affordability, safety, schools and the amount of financial assistance available to homeowners using information from Down Payment Resource.

- Fishers, Indiana
- Johns Creek, Georgia
- Frisco, Texas
- Newton, Massachusetts
- Allen, Texas
- Gilbert, Arizona
- Centennial, Colorado
- Olathe, Kansas
- Sugar Land, Texas
NerdWallet notes Johns Creek, which has just over 80,000 residents, had the seventh-highest median household income of all cities analyzed, at $116,210.
"Meanwhile, the median home price in the city was $373,700 in 2015, so incomes go a long way here," NerdWallet contends.
Other Georgia places making the extensive list include Roswell at 40, Sandy Springs at 143, Atlanta at 293, Savannah at 350, Augusta-Richmond County at 362, Macon-Bibb County at 366, Columbus at 397 and Athens-Clarke County at 418.
