2. The Summit, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, and the Johns Creek Police Department are hosting a Suicide Awareness & Prevention Event on Sep. 8. The event will provide insight into the leading causes and signs of suicidal behavior while also dismantling its deadly myths. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. at 6919 McGinnis Ferry Rd. 3. The Fulton County Commissioners have proposed increasing their share of the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) from five percent to 35 percent. This increase would create a hole in the City of Johns Creek's budget of about $7.7 million. All 15 Fulton cities, including Johns Creek, are opposed to this proposed increase.
