JOHNS CREEK, GA — Johns Creek police are warning residents of an email scam involving the scammer claiming to have a recording of their victims watching porn, demanding money.

The scammer claims to have taken the potential victim's contact lists after hacking in through malware on an unspecified adult website. It says 'i actually installed a malware on the xxx video clips (sexually graphic) site and you know what, you visited this website to have fun (you know what i mean)."

They then give the potential victim two choices: ignore the message and have a video of the porn clip, and of their webcam recording; or pay $987 in the form of Bitcoin "and you would never hear back again from me."

"This is more than your typical scam," Johns Creek police said. "They actually had an old password (somehow obtained from a data breach)," giving the false scam a sense of authenticity.

The scam email, an example of which is below, is marked by many grammatical and spelling errors.
