Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- Yesterday, Nov. 8, two Johns Creek poll workers, a mother and her son, were fired about 15 minutes before polls opened at the Ocee Library due to "questionable social media posts." Fulton County's elections interim director Nadine Williams did not comment on the specifics of the posts, but said, "There were some things in there that were not allowed. You cannot take videos or photos in the election, so that’s what brought it to our attention." There will be an investigation into the incident and the workers. - The Center for Innovations in Community Safety at Georgetown Law released a new study titled "Reducing Jail Overcrowding Without Increasing Crime: Lessons from Fulton County, Georgia." According to the study, Fulton County's overcrowding crisis is caused by the county jailing people at a higher rate than other urban counties. Click to discover more findings from the study. - The Johns Creek High School varsity volleyball team recently wrapped up its 2022 season. The team ranked number six in the Class 6A final ranking, coming in just behind Alpharetta. Sequoyah secured the Class 6A top spot. (Score Atlanta)
