Johns Creek Symphony Honors Veterans in "A Veterans Day Salute!"

Nov. 12 Concert to feature Technical Sgt. Stacey Holliday of the U.S. Air Force's Singing Sergeants as vocal soloist

Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra, a professional symphonic orchestra credited for bringing the highest level of musical arts to North Georgia, will perform “A Veterans Day Salute” on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at Johns Creek United Methodist Church located at 11180 Medlock Bridge Rd in Johns Creek, GA. The Veterans Day concert is part of Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra’s new concert series: Resilient Spirit, Resounding Season. This concert will immediately be followed by a reception that is free to all ticketholders.

To reflect the dedication of the service members and families who have made extraordinary sacrifices to protect the community’s way of life, Johns Creek Symphony orchestra will play a special collection of patriotic songs in honor of those who have served.

Technical Sgt. Stacey Holliday, from the Singing Sergeants, the official chorus of the U.S. Air Force, will be the featured soloist. Technical Sgt. Holliday began her Air Force career in August 2016. Prior to her Air Force career, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Furman University and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She competed as both a vocal soloist and piano soloist, earning several performances with the Furman Symphony Orchestra. Technical Sgt. Holliday also received a recording contract in 2010 with Albany Records, titling her first album Adderley and Holliday: Piano Duo Project.

“Our government estimates that more than 700,000 veterans live in Georgia, and gratitude for our military is something that runs deep in North Georgia,” said Linda Brill, Executive Director of the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra. “It is important that we come together to truly express our community’s appreciation for our veterans’ sacrifice and service,” she added.

“A Veterans Day Salute” will be one of the first performances of the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra’s new season, entitled Resilient Spirit, Resounding Season --which aims to reflect and showcase the culture and strength of the Johns Creek regional community. With a new brand and a concert season aligned to showcase the community’s fervor for the arts, Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra’s new season is expected to break attendance records.
