Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- At the Feb. 28 work session, the Johns Creek City Council decided not to run its own municipal elections in 2023 due to the cost. If the city had paid for its own elections, it would have cost an estimated $1 million or more than $16 per registered voter. If the city were to enter into the agreement with the other North Fulton cities, it would have been more than $17 per registered voter. The cheapest by far is for Johns Creek to pay $7.09 per registered voter for Fulton County to run the elections. (Appen Media)
- Capital Tacos, a nationally-awarded Tex-Mex restaurant franchise known for innovative and "unmatched flavors, "is opening its first Georgia storefront in Johns Creek! The restaurant is set to open in April 2023 at 11160 Medlock Bridge Road, No. 140. Soon after, a second store will open at 5270 Peachtree Pkwy. in nearby Peachtree Corners. (Nation's Restaurant News)
- Saturday, Mar. 4, is Georgia Beer Day hosted by the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild! The day celebrates "Georgia’s vibrant craft beer industry." Participating breweries include Six Bridges Brewing in Johns Creek as well as Monkey Wrench Brewing and StillFire Brewing in nearby Suwanee. See the full list of participating breweries at the link.
