Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:
- A woman from Johns Creek reported to the police that her mother had received threatening texts and voice messages from blocked numbers. The messages were in Farsi and allegedly threatened to harm the family in Turkey and Iran, as well as kill the victim, her mother, and her father. The police report stated that the victim believed the messages could be from her father's former co-worker, who was upset about monetary issues. Upon further investigation, police found no evidence of threatening messages in the texts they reviewed, noting that the messages accused the mother and father of writing bounced checks totaling $80,000. - Mayor John Bradberry will be holding his annual State of the City Address today, Apr. 27, at Chattahoochee High School. The event will reflect on last year's accomplishments while looking toward future strategic priorities and progress in 2023. Light refreshments will be served starting at 6 p.m., followed by the presentation at 7 p.m. Though attendance is free, guests are asked to RSVP online.
