Local NCL Chapter Announces Awards
National Charity League Northeast Atlanta Chapter Announces Winners Of Annual Community Service Awards
The Northeast Atlanta Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), the nation’s premier mother-daughter volunteer organization, recently held their annual Awards Ceremony. The theme was “Sundresses, Sisters & Service”, and the event celebrated more than 8700 community service hours that the chapter performed during the 2022-2023 chapter year. An additional highlight was a Big Sis/Lil Sis reveal to build connections and mentoring relationships among the different classes of teenage volunteers.
“Our mother and daughter volunteer teams impacted countless lives by donating thousands of hours of service to local philanthropies over the last year,” said Trisha Vollandt, President of NCL Northeast Atlanta chapter. “These teen girls and their moms volunteered their time and talent to organizations that support disabled children, families with food insecurity, senior citizens, children with cancer and other serious illnesses, veterans and active-duty soldiers, homeless pets, research for heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease, and more. We are so proud of the difference our volunteers make in this community.”
While NCL membership requires 15 hours of service per year, many of the mothers (called Patronesses) and daughters (called Ticktockers) went well beyond the minimum requirements. See attached list of those members who received special acknowledgement at the event.
