Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- A Johns Creek local, Andy Mao, has won the 93rd Southeastern Amateur at the Country Club of Columbus. After shooting a 68 on the final day, Mao finished at 14-under 196 to cinch the win. Mao is currently a rising senior at Georgia Tech. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Subscription)
- Back on Jun. 30, a Johns Creek couple reputed to police that they had been swindled out of a large sum of money. The couple says they made investments amounting to $24,700 in fake real estate property. The cash payments were made between April and May when the couple learned the real estate agent was not credible. (Appen Media)
- A local woman reported on Jul. 9 that she was assaulted by a man at Mercantile Social. She called in around 2:00 a.m., about an hour after the alleged fight occurred where she was hit in the face. When officers arrived, none of the involved parties were at the scene. An officer went to the woman's house where he was shown a video of the altercation, in which the woman was seen “moving toward the male in a threatening manner.” (Appen Media)
