Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. On Mar. 9, a local called the Johns Creek Police Department after his belongings were stolen from a locker at Lifetime Fitness off Lakefield Drive. The victim put his iPhone 12 pro max, Galaxy Note 8, his wallet, and his clothes into a locker while he went for a swim. When he came back, the two men who he had briefly spoken to were gone, along with everything in his locker. Management said that no one can access the locker without a master key or knowing the victim’s personalized combination. Police discovered the young man who spoke with the victim was a former employee of a different Lifetime Fitness location. (Appen Media)
  2. Johns Creek Republican Sen. Shawn Still’s Senate Bill 145, which would protect gas-powered leaf blowers from getting banned by cities or counties in Georgia, passed the Senate with an amended sunset clause. The clause would allow elected officials to slowly phase out two-cycle gas-powered leaf blowers for electric leaf blowers starting in 2031. But a House committee removed the sunset provision a couple of weeks later at the request of Hartwell Republican Rep. Alan Powell and the approval of Still. If the House votes in favor of the bill, it will have to go to the Senate for another vote since the sunset clause is no longer there. (Georgia Recorder)
  3. The City of Johns Creek is still looking for the public's input on the Barnwell Road Trail project. The project would add eight-foot-wide sidewalks and a four-foot-wide bike lane from Niblick Drive to North Peak. The new sidewalk would create a continuous pedestrian connection from Holcomb Bridge Road to Old Alabama Road. Residents are invited to share their opinion about the project here.
