In Memory: Anna Gilson, Devoted Herself To Patients For Over 20 Years
Gilson received many commendations for her work in mammography at Martin Army Hospital.

Anna Gilson of Johns Creek died peacefully at home on Dec. 31, 2015. She was born Sept. 19, 1934, to A. Waco and Maggie (Margaret M. Jordan) Agnew in Canon.

She graduated with honors from Dell in Ashville, North Carolina, in radiography. She received many commendations for her work in mammography at Martin Army Hospital where she devoted herself to her patients for over 20 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, skillful seamstress, pianist, cook, gardener and artist. She is preceded in death by parents and brother, Andrew Malloy Agnew of Elberton.
She is survived by children, Gregory John Gilson (Michelle) of Austin, TX and daughter Greta Melissa Gilson Agnew (Thomas) of Johns Creek; granddaughters, Claire Gilson Reyna (George), Ashleigh Gilson, and Anna Melissa Gilson Agnew; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Isabella Reyna, sister Maree A. Nelson; brothers Gerald Agnew, and Robert Agnew (Doris)l and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is also survived by her devoted long time sweetheart Mladgan Alexich and his children.
The family is grateful for Eufemia Mercedes Rodriguez for the loving care she provided and for Dr. Philip Romm and his nurse, Patty, for his excellent medical care over the past 13 years.
The family will receive guests at Patterson’s Oglethorpe Hill Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon.
