McCarty, a native of Lorain, Ohio, was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. She worked for over thirty-seven years as registered nurse in Marshfield, WI and in Atlanta. She was a compassionate provider of care throughout her professional career always putting the patient first with a real joy and passion for the care of the elderly.
During the years of dealing with ovarian cancer she taught us how to approach a challenge with courage, dignity and humor up to the very end. She was a lover of animals and the household included a variety of dogs over the years and she leaves behind her rescued golden retriever and beloved fury angel Molly and Duncan her basset hound grand dog.
She is survived by her husband of forty-one years, John E. McCarty of Johns Creek; son, Phillip John McCarty of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Kourtney Ann McCarty of Miami, Florida; mother, Dora Witten of Lorain, Ohio; sister, Michelle McGinty of Berea, Ohio; brother, Thomas Witten of Wellington, Ohio.
