In Memory: Tamara Baker, 57, Teacher Who Enjoyed Gardening and Music
The Johns Creek resident passed away Wednesday following a long battle with cancer.

Tamara Lind Baker, 57, of Johns Creek, passed away Dec. 3, 2014 following a long battle with cancer. Tamara was born in Atlanta on August 29, 1957. She attended Georgia schools and graduated from Georgia State University in 1985. Following graduation, she worked for a time at Delta Airlines Marketing before marrying and moving to Kentucky.
Tamara also taught kindergarten and elementary school in both Louisville and Atlanta. She was active in the Presbyterian church, loved music and sang in her church choirs. Tamara enjoyed gardening, was a wonderful cook, had many hobbies and loved doing creative things such as crafts and crocheting.

Tamara was preceded in death by her father, James P. Basiley in 2006. Tamara is survived by her two children: Kayli Baker of Johns Creek and David T.J. Baker of Lexington. She is also survived by her mother and step-father, Mary Alyce and Tom Bartels of Johns Creek and her sister and brother-in-law Terry and Jerry Inglima of Alpharetta.
Visitation was held on Friday Dec. 5, 2014 at Roswell Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday Dec. 6, 2014, at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody and Arlington Memorial Park immediately following.
