Northeast Atlanta NCL Chapter Celebrates National Sandwich Day with Over 2,000 Volunteer Hours In Support of the Sandwich Project
The Northeast Atlanta Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) proudly celebrates National Sandwich Day through its continued commitment to The Sandwich Project, a philanthropic initiative dedicated to combating food insecurity in our community. During the 2023-2024 service year, the 200 members of the Northeast Atlanta NCL chapter logged a remarkable 2,041 volunteer hours in support of this important cause.
The Sandwich Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose volunteers assemble and donate fresh, homemade sandwiches each week for those with food insecurity in the metro Atlanta area. The Sandwich Project brings together volunteers from all walks of life to create and distribute sandwiches, fostering a sense of community and compassion.
“Our members are passionate about making a positive impact, and the more than 2,000 hours we dedicated to The Sandwich Project in the last year reflect our commitment to serving those in need right here in Atlanta,” said Kara Byrd, President of NCL Northeast Atlanta chapter. “National Sandwich Day is a great occasion to remember our neighbors facing food insecurity and to do everything we can to ensure no one in our community goes hungry.”
