Norcross High School To Give Tribute To Football Player Who Died Suddenly

Isaiah Banks, a 16-year-old football player, died suddenly in his home last weekend, according to family.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Gwinnett high school will remember the life of a former football player at Friday’s game. Family tells WSB-TV that the 16-year-old died suddenly at his home last weekend.

Norcross High School will honor Isaiah Banks at the 7:30 p.m. football game against Cherokee High School with a moment of silence.

“This is the first student of mine to pass away,” said Taylor Estes, in a social media post. “Coupled with so many other deaths in the GCPS community in the past two weeks, my heart is extremely heavy. The beauty of this job is all the hearts we get to touch and give parts of our hearts too. It stings when a piece is damaged. If you get a chance please pray and keep in your thoughts the students and staff across GCPS that are experiencing trauma and remember to show grace. Especially for all of the families having to grieve.”
