JOHNS CREEK, GA — An elementary school in Johns Creek has moved its entire first grade class to digital learning.

Fulton Schools posted on its Facebook page on Monday night that," based on a high volume of positive cases and direct contacts and having met the criteria of a Level 2 at Ocee Elementary School," the first grade will be doing remote learning starting Tuesday through Friday, Sept. 3, returning Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Anyone who will be required to quarantine for longer will be notified directly, the district said.

All cities within the Fulton County Schools jurisdiction were above 100 per 100,000 positive COVID-19 cases. According to that data, all cities were identified as high community spread by public health officials. The requirement to wear a mask indoors was then extended to all schools, including the schools and facilities within Johns Creek, which had previously been exempt.

Last week the district announced that Lake Windward Elementary School's fifth grade would be doing remote learning through Thursday, Sept. 2, returning Friday, Sept. 3.
