Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- A scammer tricked a Johns Creek Subway employee into buying $118 in Subway gift cards using money from the store's cash register. A man posing as a police officer reportedly called the store instructing the employee to purchase the gift cards "at the request of the Subway manager." Once the caller obtained the gift card information, he instructed the employee to throw the card away and not tell anyone. The employee said she became suspicious and told her manager, who confirmed the transaction had not been authorized. Police were able to gather the suspect's IP address with the help of the employee's boyfriend after the suspect called the store again. (Appen Media)
- The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, which serves Johns Creek and five other nearby cities, has been named a Georgia Certified Chamber by the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (GACCE). This prestigious designation, which has only been received by about one-third of all Georgia Chambers of Commerce, is awarded to chambers that meet GACCE's standards for service, administration, organization, financial management, communications, and advocacy. The Greater North Fulton Chamber has also received a five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. (Appen Media)
