Proposed Bell Road Community Still Causes Concern for Local Residents
The proposed rezoning case goes before Johns Creek City Council, Monday, May 20.

Some Bell Road residents are still concerned about the impact of a proposed 646-lot neighborhood, which is scheduled to come before Johns Creek City Council on Monday.
The 224 acres on Bell Road near Boles is currently undeveloped, but developers hope city council approves the gated subdivision. But not everyone is thrilled at the idea of the high-end community.
"All of us are sad to see this beautiful piece of land being bulldozered and built-up instead of having a park there for all citizens of Johns Creek to enjoy," said nearby resident Cory Holz. "There are not enough parks in the city and this land is pristine with untouched streams and full of wildlife like deer, foxes, [and] geese."

The development is now slated to include two points of access, instead of just the one previously noted.
The first entrance would be located off of Bell Road, while a second would be located off "a proposed public road extending from Bell Road and stubbing to adjacent Technology Park property line," states the staff report.

But, Holz is still concerned.
"Essentially we are concerned about density, traffic and schools," she told Patch.
She and others from the area are meeting with the developer "to see if we can work with them together to come up with a solution that works for everyone in the community," she had previously said.
The developer, listed as Johns Creek 206 LLC, has filed a letter of intent with the city requesting a zoning change from agricultural to residential. The proposal has been recommended for approval, with conditions, by city staff. The issue goes before city council tonight, Monday, May 20 at 7 p.m. at Johns Creek City Hall.
