- The City of Johns Creek invites the public to share their input on the Barnwell Road at Niblick Drive intersection improvement project during a public information open house meeting tonight, Jun. 9, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at Park Place at Newtown Park, 3125 Old Alabama Road, and will be live-streamed. Further details on the meeting can be found here. (City of Johns Creek, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
- Depending on the outcome of this fall's election, Gwinnett County stands to collect $1.35 billion in special-purpose local-option sales tax (SPLOST) dollars over the next six years. If the SPLOST referendum makes it onto the Nov. 8 general election ballot and voters approve it, collections would begin on Apr. 1, 2023. County officials seem to have a lot of big plans for the money to improve Gwinnett County, including a new police headquarters, new fire stations, road widening, intersection upgrades, pedestrian safety projects, and more. According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, County commissioners are expected to vote on an intergovernmental agreement with the county's cities for the SPLOST on Jul. 19. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
