Reader-Nominated Businesses Of The Year: Johns Creek's Best

JOHNS CREEK, GA — It's been a tough year for Johns Creek businesses. The coronavirus pandemic presented enormous challenges for most, from the stay-home orders in the spring to restrictions and other hurdles from fall into winter.

To recognize all their efforts, Patch asked readers to nominate Local Businesses of the Year, whether it was the restaurant that made special accommodations for takeout, the shop that opened early, the pizzeria that went out of its way to deliver, the hardware store owner that offered invaluable advice or something else.

These nominations are not an official award, but simply recognition of a job well done.

Here are some of the nominations Patch has received in Johns Creek, and the reason why they should be honored. Several businesses received multiple nominations, which are listed below:

• Mario’s Hair Designers: We have been cautious cleans and living up to clients needs for the healthy environment to receive and the hair cut and color to brighten each clients day in a positive way.
• St Andrews Apartment Homes: Staff is always nice and friendly. Community is family oriented. They take great care of residents and support them during move. Offers an environment that is clean and has large amounts of space inside homes.
• World Financial Group: After spending $2 million remodeling and updating their office, they have never been able to use it because of Covid safety. They were one of the first businesses in JC to have all 200 employees shift to working from home for safety and so they would be there to help their Children and family. They shifted to using Zoom type meetings, email and phone. They let all employees take their desks equipment home so they have everything they need at home to do their job. The caring leaders talk daily with team to make sure they are okay and well. Therein they have been amazing.
• Belen de la Cruz: Great product. Great owner who has a love of baking who started her own business.
• Egg Harbor Café: Service, consistency, friendliness, Great food and works very well with custom orders when you need to change something around and takes the extra step to make sure everything is perfect. I’ve been going to this restaurant for almost 3 years They’ve gone the extra mile to make sure that everybody is safe not just the staff the customers and everything rolling around the pandemic I applaud them for taking the temperature at the door and putting signs on tables that say sanitized didn’t really go the extra mile then other places that I’ve been to especially during the pandemic although they only serve breakfast for the most part they are what I look forward to every weekend with my family and I believe that they deserve Recognition
• Angelo's Pizza: As a New Yorker, finding good pizza anywhere else is a hard task. Angelo's pizza and Italian food hits the spot and tastes great.
• Alessio’s Restauarant & Pizzeria: Awesome food and expect i all customer service. The pizza is the best New York style pizza in all of GA!!!
• 7 Sisters Scones: Great service! Very happy, friendly place to visit. Yummy scones!!!
• Johns Creek Books and Gifts: JC Books and Gifts is very community oriented. When our library closed for renovations they picked up many community based programs the library did so people would still have access to book clubs, etc. They have consistently held food drives through the covid pandemic. They carry a wonderful selection of gifts and new and used books. The staff always greets customers with a smile and are quick to make suggestions on the best books to read. They are such an asset to our community.
