Here are the top three stories today in Johns Creek:
- On Friday morning, work crews installed the new pedestrian bridge for the Rogers Bridge over the Chattahoochee River. In the coming weeks, there will be construction on other elements, including a water line and the bridge approaches. The replica of the original bridge will be completed later this year. (Facebook)
- On Memorial Day weekend, Johns Creek’s Medlock Bridge neighborhood hosted the 30th Annual Calcutta Tennis Tournament. The event raised over $5,000 for Special Populations Tennis, a nonprofit organization that offers tennis programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Over the weekend, there were over 67 matches completed across the 12 courts at ACE Tennis Management. (Johns Creek Herald)
- Fulton County schools are planning on offering safety changes for the upcoming school year after the mass shootings in Uvdale and Buffalo. Fulton County Schools System is offering a new threat assessment tool that measures who is a risk on campus, how much of a risk they are to others, and what response should be involved. The school system will be reaching out to parents before the school year with more information. (CBS 46)
