Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- In 2020, Georgia had the 12th-highest stroke death rate in the U.S., according to a Georgia Department of Public Health report. Democratic state Sen. Michelle Au, a physician from Johns Creek who will serve in the state House next year, said Georgia could help reduce the rate of stroke death by allocating resources more efficiently. She recommends "going into areas without coverage and boosting hospitals' ability to handle stroke patients." (The Current GA)
- Fulton County Schools will have a remote learning day on Dec. 6 due to the statewide run-off election. The election between incumbent Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker for the U.S. Senate seat is expected to draw high voter turnout. Since many Fulton County Schools are polling sites, remote learning will ensure the safety of students and staff. Schools will return to in-person learning on Dec. 7. (Reporter Newspapers)
