Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:
- Danielle Hudson Laughlin and the SAGE Business Counsel will be presenting "Skeletons in our Company's Closet" as part of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce's HR and Small Business Series. This event will focus on ways to search for and mitigate potential legal risks within a business, as well as learning how to identify risks a business may encounter. Registration is now open for this event, which will be held nearby in Duluth on the third floor of the 1818 Club. The cost is$45 for Chamber members, $55 for non-members, and HR series members get in free of charge. (24-7 Press Release)
- A full photo gallery is now available for the exciting Johns Creek Daffodil Days Market that drew an incredible crowd on Mar. 25 at Johns Creek City Hall. The exciting event featured days worth of excitement including fun activities, food trucks, over 60 artists, and much more. The event was centered around Daffodils 4 Hope which is a planting campaign emphasizing raising awareness for CanCare Atlanta, an organization that provides counseling support for cancer patients and caregivers in the community. - A council work session held on Apr. 11 marked the beginning of the city's focus on stormwater management and preventative measures. Johns Creek Stormwater Utility Manager Cory Rayburn spoke with the council about the importance of expanding the city's stormwater assets onto private properties and looking at the pipes, catch basins, and headwalls nearing the end of their lifecycle to prevent sinkholes and collapsed roadways. The city has already allocated $2.8 million of this year's budget to repairs and maintenance, and the rest should be used in the next six months, according to Rayburn. The city council hopes that with more money and oversight, sooner rather than later projects can continue to be completed in the near future. (Appen Media)

- Glass is one of the most sustainable materials, as it can be recycled over and over without losing quality or purity. Bring all your glass food containers and bottles to the recycling container right in Ocee Park. (City of Johns Creek, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
- Distracted driving comes in many shapes and forms, whether you are changing the radio or GPS, or eating while trying to drive.
