Stolen Car Taken From Johns Creek BP Gas Station: Police

An employee told Johns Creek police his car was warming up with keys inside when it was stolen, according to police.

JOHNS CREEK —Johns Creek police arrested a man Thursday who they said was found driving a reported stolen car, according to a news release.

On Feb. 10, Johns Creek police responded to a stolen vehicle investigation at a BP gas station, 3700 Old Alabama Road. An employee told officers that he had left the vehicle running with the keys inside while warming it up, said police.

Later that day officers responded to a traffic hazard at Wheeler Peek Way and Mount Victoria Place, according to a news release. They found the Black Chevy Tahoe — the same vehicle that was reported stolen earlier.

A 34-year-old male, identified as Dennis Grant was found with a stolen firearm. Police said he admitted to the crime and was arrested. He was charged with felony burglary and theft, according to police.
