Here are the top three stories in Johns Creek today:

  1. Residents of Johns Creek will be receiving their 2022 Stormwater Utility Fee. Roman Carey, the stormwater engineer for the city, encourages residents to head to the city's website to learn more about the fee and what it entails. In 2020, Johns Creek assessed its stormwater system and estimated the costs of repair and maintenance for the next ten years. The Stormwater Utility Fee is used to fund the stormwater management program and make all of those necessary repairs. The amount on your bill is based on your property's contribution to stormwater management needs. (Johns Creek Patch)
  2. Boston Scientific, a major medical device manufacturer, plans to build a new production and distribution facility in Johns Creek. The company is investing $62.5 million in its new campus to create around 340 jobs over the next seven years. Boston Scientific already employs about 300 people in the state, having acquired EndoChoice in 2016. (ThomasNet News)
  3. Over 70 residents attended Johns Creek active shooter training for both adults and kids. 12-year-old Alisa Nikonova, who attended the course, said, “I just want to be prepared if anything happens in real life. Anything can happen no matter how good the school is." The course outlines what you can do before the police get there. Lt. Deb Kalish encouraged individuals to get out of the area or block access to their immediate area if they cannot escape; she even suggested that students defend themselves against active shooters with a pen.
