Tag Renewal Services Unavailable In Johns Creek As County Updates System

All Georgia vehicle registration and titling services, including e-services and tag renewal kiosks, will be unavailable later this week.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — All Georgia vehicle registration and titling services, including e-services and tag renewal kiosks, will be unavailable beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, through Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, for a statewide system upgrade to the Georgia Driver Record and Integrated Vehicle Enterprise System (DRIVES) to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Vehicle owners with expiration dates in late December and early January are encouraged to renew prior to 7 p.m. on Dec. 30, to avoid any potential delays.

Both Fulton County Tax Commissioner's Office locations, as well as the Georgia Department of Revenue's Motor Vehicle Division, will be unable to process transactions and therefore be closed.

All online motor vehicle related services, including online tag renewal services, will be unavailable. Motor Vehicle Self Service Kiosks will be unavailable.

Customers and dealers seeking to conduct any title transactions should complete their business with the Tax Commissioner's Office prior to 4 p.m. at Thursday, Dec. 30.

Motor vehicle dealers will be able to initiate electronic title and registration transactions and issue emergency temporary operating permits over New Year's weekend. Law enforcement will still have access to motor vehicle records.

The Fulton County Tax Commissioner's Office will be closed Thursday, Dec. 30, through Monday, Jan. 3 (in observance of the New Year's Day holiday and during the system upgrade). The Office will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
