Toohey signs with The University of the Cumberlands
Chattahoochee HS senior Michael Toohey signs with The University of the Cumberlands

Chattahoochee High School's Michael Toohey has signed a letter of commitment to play lacrosse for the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY. The University of the Cumberlands competes in the NAIA league, Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Toohey has been a goalie for CHS since his freshman year. He has lettered all 4 years and Team Captain for 3 years. Toohey has been a great leader and mentor to his teammates. He received several honors from the CHS program including the Coaches Award and Defensive Player of the Year. Toohey was selected to play as the goalie for the All-Tournament Team at the 2019 FLG in 3D Summer Shootout. (Boyd, Maryland).
Toohey began playing lacrosse in third grade at Newtown Park, Johns Creek GA. He has also played for Georgia Outlaws, Lax for Leukemia and GA 3D Elite. He credits his success to the many amazing coaches in the program. These Coaches have helped him both on and off the field. Thank you to Coach Clark, Coach Dowling, Coach Hebert, Coach Hill, Coach Khulkie, Coach Hoyt and Coach Bellus.
Toohey is excited to continue his love of lacrosse at the University of the Cumberlands under Coach Campbell.
Toohey is also an active member of North Point Community Church. He participates with his small group lead by Mark Kopp and Andy Schluter during the Inside Out program. He also is a small group leader for the middle school program, Transit. Michael has been leading the same group of boys for three years as they navigate their middle school years.
