The Lady Hoyas of took a break from the hardwood Dec. 12 to support Kids Cubed in its efforts to help foster families. The basketball team partnered with several other groups to aid Kids Cubed, then spent Sunday afternoon serving dinner, singing carols, playing games, decorating trees, wrapping presents and more to bring Christmas to more than 200 foster children and families from four counties. Every foster child had a full meal, then went home with a present, winter coat and goodie bag.
Coach Steve Lenahan's wife, Sandy, helped plan the effort, and her mother, Pat Gragg, drove down from North Carolina to prepare the food. Candyce Asby, the coach's niece, joined the Lady Hoyas in serving the meal to the foster children.
