Chase Massner Case: Former Fugitive Denied Bond In Death Concealment Probe

Fugitive James Bradshaw Clement​ was denied bond Friday in Cobb after being arrested in a shopping center in DeKalb County.

KENNESAW, GA -- A fugitive arrested for allegedly concealing the death of an Army veteran was denied bond Friday morning in Cobb County. The hearing came one day after James Bradshaw Clement was arrested in DeKalb County.

New details are becoming available in Clement's high-profile arrest by the Cobb Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit. He is facing felony charges in the investigation of missing Army veteran Chase Massner, who vanished in March 2014 after staying at Clement's home.

His arrest comes days after he promised law enforcement that he would turn himself in. Clement was charged with concealing a death after authorities found remains in his home that roughly match the time period when his friend Chase Massner disappeared.

Authorities have been searching for Massner all week since he was charged with the felony Friday. The car authorities told the public to be on the lookout for -- a blue Honda Civic -- was found by a news crew in a DeKalb County driveway. The home purportedly belongs to Clement's mother.

Massner vanished after last being at Clement's home three years ago. Clement, a friend of Massner, has fought for three years allegations that he had something to do with Massner's disappearance.

Remains found in the backyard of Clement's former home at 555 Farmbrook Trail are believed to be that of Massner, but authorities are awaiting official confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Massner reportedly went to stay at Clement's home in March 2014 after having a marital dispute. He was never seen again.
