Cobb Son Accused Of Killing Mom Faces Murder Charges

Police arrest a man on murder charges in connection with the death of his mother, who was found during a welfare check in Cobb County.

KENNESAW, GA — A 28-year-old Kennesaw man is facing murder charges after Cobb County Police accused him of killing his 67-year-old mother.

Police on Tuesday said Melanie Sarris was found dead around 10:30 a.m. Monday during a welfare check in the 1000 block of Evian Way.

Daniel Sarris, her son, was arrested and was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault and murder in connection with the death probe, police said.

Police have not said what led to her death or his arrest. A cause and manner of death are unknown.
