Firefighters Battle Kennesaw House Blaze

One person inside the home Monday morning managed to escape the flames, according to fire officials.

KENNESAW, GA -- A home in Kennesaw was ravaged by a Monday morning blaze, Cobb County fire officials say.

The home in the 200 block of Heck Road caught fire at approximately 10:30 a.m., fire department spokesman Dan Dupree tells Patch. Firefighters were on scene within four minutes of receiving the call and reported that the two-story home was fully involved.

One occupant of the house self-evacuated, Dupree said.

Although working defensively due to the risk of collapse, firefighters had the blaze under control before 11:10 a.m., according to Dupree.

No injuries were reported.
