Gas Prices Steady Across U.S., Dropping in Georgia

While gas prices have remained fairly consistent across the U.S. over the past week, those in Georgia and metro Atlanta have seen about a nickel's worth in declines, AAA figures show.

The national average sits at $3.825, compared to $3.827 a week ago. Across Georgia, the average is $3.808, and a week ago, it was $3.844. Those numbers for metro Atlanta are $3.882 and $3.934, respectively.

AAA's highest recorded average price for Georgia was $4.164 on Sept. 15, 2008, while the highest for the nation was $4.114 on July 17, 2008.
