ICYMI: Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Kennesaw
Charges are expected to be filed against the driver who hit the woman Wednesday morning.

An 83-year-old Kennesaw woman died from injuries she received when she was hit by a pickup truck while trying to navigate a crosswalk on Wednesday morning, the Cobb County Police Department says.
Katie Swinehamer was crossing heading north across George Busbee Parkway at Frey Road when a 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche turned left from soutbound Frey Road onto eastbound George Busbee Parkway at 7:53 a.m. The Avalanche hit Swinehamer when she was in the left lane, police said.
Swinehamer was rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment but died from her injuries Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The driver of the Avalanche, 52-year-old Brian Marcus of Woodstock, was uninjured in the collision. Police expect to file charges against Marcus.
