Kennesaw Hosts Black History Program

A Moment in Black History" set for Sunday at the Southern Museum.

KENNESAW, GA -- In honor of Black History Month, Kennesaw will be presenting "A Moment in Black History," featuring live performance, interpretive dance and spoken word, the city said.

Also on display will be the Southern Museum’s commemorative poster exhibition “A Place for All People: Introducing the National Museum of African American History and Culture.” The exhibit is also featured at the Cobb Energy Gallery this month.

"Black History Month is a time to reflect on the sacrifices and contributions of great pioneers and freedom fighters," Kennesaw Council member Yvette Daniel said in a statement. "Programs like this inclusively engage residents and build a more equitable community that supports growth and forms strong bonds."
