Kennesaw Resident to Appear on ABC's "Shark Tank"

Aaron Marino is one of 88 entrepreneurs, out of 30,000 applicants, who will pitch his image consulting firm to a team of judges on "Shark Tank" this Friday at 8 p.m.

Kennesaw resident Aaron Marino will be featured on ABC's "Shark Tank" today at 8 p.m., as he pitches the Alpha M. Style System to a panel of judges offering over $6.2 million of their own investment money to bankroll innovative entrepreneurs.

Marino, who's a graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, has lived in the Kennesaw area for more than 10 years. He was a district championship wrestler in high school, and he says on his website that he appreciated style as young as kindergarten, when he insisted on wrapping an entire role of Scotch tape around the ankles of his jeans to ensure a clean line. He also reminisces on the first hair cut he gave—in fourth grade.

According to Perkiomen Valley Patch, where he went to high school, Marino was voted "best dressed" while living on a tight budget in college and he graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in business management.

Marino opened a fitness center after graduation, but decided that he preferred helping men with wardrobe, hair and overall appearance choices over running the day-to-day workings of a gym. In 2006, Alpha M. Image Consulting was born in the metro Atlanta area.

According to the Shark Tank Blog, Marino has helped over 6,000 guys go from "average Joe to Alpha Male."

Marino's Alpha M. Style System is a series of six DVD's that teach men how to build a wardrobe and a personal style that will last and build confidence. The system also includes a one-month membership to Alpha M Consulting, which features one-on-one mentoring on style, fitness, dating, and more.

Marino made it through a two-month vetting process after submitting his business and product to "Shark Tank", beating out almost 30,000 applicants for one of 88 spots on the show.

"Shark Tank" contestants will pitch their businesses to investors Robert Herjavec, Kevin O'Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Daymond John and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
