Man, 61, Arrested After Woman's Body Found in Kennesaw Home

Cobb police were responding to a call about a gasoline smell coming from the home.

KENNESAW, GA -- Cobb County police arrested a 61-year-old man Monday night in connection with murder charges after a 62-year-old woman was found dead at a home in Kennesaw.

About 9:48 p.m., officers responded to a call about a gasoline odor coming from a home in the 4100 block of Lake Mist Drive.

Once inside the home, officers encountered Darryl Chandler. Upon investigating, they discovered Brenda Chandler deceased in the master bedroom, Cobb County police said in a news release.

Cobb County police have not divulged the relationship between Darryl and Brenda Chandler.

Darryl Chandler was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, felony murder and attempt to commit arson. He is being held without bond at the Cobb County Detention Center, according to the news release.

The Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet determined a cause of death for Brenda Chandler.
