Man Pulls Knife In Kennesaw Road-Rage Incident: Police

A man is facing charges after being accused of pulling out a knife during a road-rage incident because a person was driving too slowly.

KENNESAW, GA — A man is facing aggravated assault charges after police accused him of threatening a driver at knifepoint because the person was traveling under the speed limit in Kennesaw, police said.

Kennesaw Police said Giancarlo Russo was arrested Friday after the road-rage incident occurred at Legacy Park Boulevard and Gramercy Main.

The driver was going 10 miles under the posted 35 mph speed limit and had begun to be tailed by a car, according to a WAGA-TV report. A couple was inside of the targeted vehicle, the report stated.

"When they came to a stop sign, the car pulled up next to them and started yelling," Kennesaw Police Public Information Officer David Buchanan told WAGA-TV. "The car eventually pulled in front of them and blocked them. He got out of the car and he was holding a knife."

The couple stayed inside their car and photographed Russo's tag, leading police to be able to identify him, WAGA-TV reported.

Russo was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and simple assault, police said.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.
