Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park will close road to vehicle traffic in 2026 (wsbtv.com) — Starting Jan. 6, 2025, you’ll no longer be able to drive your own car up Mountain Road to the summit at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, with access shifting to shuttles, bikes, and hiking. Intermittent road closures for pavement striping could limit summit access through March and possibly into spring, though the unpaved mountain trail and designated cycling hours will remain available.
   

2. Wiggins, Titus shine in Kennesaw Mountain's win over Marietta (macon.com) — Kennesaw-area fans saw Kennesaw Mountain High’s boys basketball team notch a big win over Marietta at the Lemon Street Classic, powered by hot shooting from Tyler Wiggins and a strong second half from Grant Titus. The Mustangs, now 6-7, next face North Cobb before diving back into tough Region 5AAAAA play against state contender Alexander.
   

3. Kennesaw State graduate's emotional graduation moment goes viral (wsbtv.com) — A Kennesaw State University graduate’s emotional reaction at commencement in Kennesaw has gone viral after his mother shared video of him crying with joy as years of financial and personal struggle paid off. Supported by local mentors, scholarships, and full-time work, he finished his degree with minimal debt and now plans to build a real estate career while inspiring other young Black men to persevere.
   

4. Multiple GA Retailers Planning 2026 Closures: See List (patch.com) — Several major chains are planning store closures in 2026, and some of those decisions could eventually affect locations serving Kennesaw shoppers. While no specific Kennesaw stores are named for closure yet, retailers like Carter’s, Macy’s, Kroger, Walgreens, and Wendy’s are all trimming underperforming sites across Georgia over the next few years.
