KENNESAW, GA -- Cobb County police are investigating after remains were found in a backyard in Kennesaw, authorities said late Tuesday. Law enforcement officials said the home in the 500 block of Farmbrook Trail is the last known address of Chase Massner, an Army veteran who disappeared in March 2014. "We located remains (unsure if human or animal at this time) at 555 Farmbrook Trail," Cobb spokeswoman Officer Alicia Chilton said in a news release. "The remains have been removed from the backyard of the residence, and the medical examiner and detectives are now working to identify the remains." <a href="https://patch.com/georgia/woodstock/group-organizes-search-missing-army-veteran" target="_blank">Group organizes search for Chase Massner</a> Massner was a 26-year-old husband and father to two children at the time of his disappearance.
