Two Cobb Students Earn $10,000 Scholarships To College

South Cobb High graduate Adanze Nnyagu and Wheeler High grad Laura Zhang are among 60 students to earn Ronald McDonald House scholarships.

SOUTH COBB, GA -- Two Cobb County students headed to college recently received $10,000 scholarships from Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities. South Cobb High School graduate Adanze Nnyagu is going to the University of Georgia. Wheeler High grad Laura Zhang is Harvard-bound. The duo are two of 60 local students that earned the scholarships from ARMHC.

“Atlanta RMHC understands the importance and value of a college degree, which is why the McDonald’s Owners/Operators Association is so committed to helping students in their pursuit of higher education,” Vivian de Jesus, Atlanta RMHC board member, said in the release.

De Jesus, a McDonald’s owner/operator and scholarship committee chair, added: “We are proud to provide our local high school seniors with these scholarships and look forward to supporting them in their future endeavors.”

In addition to UGA and Harvard, metro Atlanta students are going to as universities such as Brown, Georgia Tech, Spelman College, Johns Hopkins, Duke University and more.
