• Carter introduces bill awarding Congressional Gold Medal to the fallen patriots of Thiokol (house.gov) — Kingsland residents are among 30 local Thiokol workers proposed to receive a Congressional Gold Medal posthumously, under a new bill introduced by Rep. Buddy Carter. The legislation would honor those killed in the 1971 and 1973 Woodbine plant explosions, many of them South Georgia and Camden County residents, by recognizing their sacrifice at the national level.
