316 Traffic Tied up in Both Directions from Separate Saturday Afternoon Accidents
Crashes on eastbound 316 in Lawrenceville and westbound 316 in Barrow slow traffic late Saturday afternoon.
A traffic accident on Highway 316 eastbound near Briscoe Field airport sent traffic detouring to Hurricane Shoals Road shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, while vehicles returning to the Atlanta area from the Georiga-Georgia Tech game were stalled by a westbound wreck in Barrow County.
A plane carrying a banner ad, likely fresh from the football game, circled overhead as officials directed traffic off the highway after the Lawrenceville wreck.
It's been a tough holiday weekend for Highway 316. On Friday, a westbound lane was closed in the afternoon while officials put out a nearby brush fire.
