Lilburn Prepares for National Night Out 2013
The annual event will be Aug. 6 in Lilburn City Park.

The start of school isn't the only thing in Lilburn to look forward to in August: There's also National Night Out.Â
The annual nationwide event is coming to town once again Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Lilburn City Park. Hosted by the city of Lilburn, SafetySmart Lilburn and the Lilburn Police Department, National Night Out aims to generate resident support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and build positive relationships between police and residents.Â
Previous years have proven that National Night Out is a huge event in Lilburn with hundreds in attendance, and it's expected to be bigger and better for 2013. Here's what locals can expect at this year's event:Â
- Fifty-five exhibitors are expected to bring resources and safety-related information, which is an increase of 15 compared to last yearÂ
- Demos using K9s and more
- A kids' tool workshop and scavenger hunt
- A vintage car display
- A health clinic offered by Gwinnett Medical and Eastside Medical
- Walmart Vision offers free vision screening
- County level agencies and Lilburn community organizations
- Fourteen local businesses and restaurants
- The Gwinnett Fire mascot, Sparky, and the Chick-Fil-A cow
- Blue Bell Ice Cream samples
- Information on the Neighborhood Watch and the COPS program
