March 20 Marks First Day of Spring

This year the spring equinox starts at 7:02 a.m. March 20.

Cold weather is still lingering around by spring is officially here.

The start of spring comes at exactly 7:02 a.m. on March 20. The sun will cross directly over the equator in a moment called the vernal equinox.

For those in the Northern Hemisphere, this signals warmer weather, and the growth of flora and fauna.

Spring last until June 21, when summer officially starts.
