Parkview High's Khalil Shakur Wins State Wrestling Championship
Khalil Shakur is Parkview High's first state champion since 2008.

Going into the evening, Khalil Shakur already was ranked No. 1 in the state, and when he hit the mat for the championship match Saturday, he made sure there was no doubt.
Shakur, a senior at Parkview High School and captain of the wrestling team, placed first in the final championship round -- making him the first state wrestling champion at the school since 2008, according to the team's Twitter account.Â
After the win, Shakur tweeted: "Thanks to anyone that helped me win a state title this year, coaches, drill partners, friends. I couldn't have done it without you guys!!"
