State Basketball Tournament: Berkmar Boys Fall to Norcross in Quarterfinals

It will be Norcross High that moves on to the semifinals, after beating Berkmar High Wednesday evening.

In the end, the Berkmar Patriots could not hold off the Norcross Blue Devils in the quarterfinal round of the state basketball tournament.

Norcross High School won the game with a more than 20-point lead, 56-35, according to the Georgia High School Association (GHSA). 

This ends the season for which were last state champions in 2000 and 2001.

Now, Norcross High moves on to the semifinal round, where the final four teams battle for the state title. And, according to GHSA, the matches are all set:

Wheeler High will play Hillgrove High at 5:30 p.m. at Georgia Tech on March 2, as well.

Norcoss High will play North Cobb High at 8:30 p.m. at Georgia Tech on March 2.

The winner of these two games will play for the Class AAAAAA championship on March 9.
