Southern Gymnastics Helping 'Turn the World Upside Down'

As a celebration of National Gymnastics Day 2012, and to help raise funds for the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, Southern Gymnastics will be having a fitness challenge on Saturday. The funds for the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome will be to benefit Addison Marlow. The Marlow family is apart of the competitive team at SGC and Addison was recently diagnosed with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. This is a genetic disorder that manifests in several different ways, including autism related symptoms as well as intellectual development disorders, seizures and sleep disorders. Visit www.pmsf.org for more information.

The events at SGC run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. with participation in the National Handstand Picture scheduled for 1 p.m. To be eligible to participate in the fitness challenge each gymnast must raise a minimum of $25. This donation is 100 percent deductibile.
