Pharmacy Worker Shot In Head In Loganville Dies Of Injuries
Officials say a person of interest had been taken into custody in connection with a shooting that killed a 62-year-old Loganville woman.
LOGANVILLE, GA β The Loganville woman who was shot in the head Friday in an Atlanta Highway pharmacy parking lot has died, city officials said.
Officers responded to the shooting around 2 p.m. in the 4300 block of Atlanta, Loganville city officials said.
There, officials said they found 62-year-old Kimberly Whaley suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She was airlifted in critical condition to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she died Sunday, officials said.

On Friday, officials said a person of interest had been taken into custody but had not yet been charged. Officials have not released further information on the person.
Whaley, who worked at the pharmacy, was remembered by customers in a WAGA-TV report as being nice and courteous.

"It moves me," customer Norma Osborne said in the report. "I feel like crying. She's a nice lady. She's very courteous, and I just canβt believe that she died."
Kellie's Home Kitchen, an Atlanta Highway eatery, on Facebook said it is collecting donations for Whaley's family.
"At this time, we are asking for prayers for the family of Kimberly Whaley who died from a gunshot wound Friday at CVS. Our small town is in shock! We will be donating our Veterans Donation to her Family. Preserves sales will go to her Family. We can round up your tickets to go to her Family. Anything to help," read the post.
