Veterans Job Fair in Loganville Wednesday

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the American Legion will co-sponsor a job expo for veterans and other job seekers Wednesday, March 7, in Walton County.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the , located at 4635 Atlanta Highway, which is U.S. Highway 78, in Loganville. Veterans’ representatives from GDOL career centers in Gwinnett County, Covington, and Monroe will be on hand to provide employment-related services.

The event will feature about 40 employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. Some employers will be hiring, while others will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, and other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings, including part-time, full-time, entry-level, supervisory, and management positions.

Employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies expected to participate in the job expo  include Advantage Staffing, Allied Barton Security, Aloricares, Apollo Staffing, Applebee’s Management Training, Ark Temporary Staffing, AutoZone, BB&T, CDL of Georgia, Championship Chess, Cobb County’s Department of Public Safety, Comcast-Cable/Telesales, Credability, DeVry University-Keller Management School, Department of Homeland-Security-FEMA, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Georgia Department of Veteran Services, Georgia Aquarium, Goodwill of North Georgia, Gwinnett County School’s Nutrition Department, Gwinnett County Police Department, Gwinnett Technical College’s Veterans Affairs Office, Impact Staffing, Independent Electrical Contractors, Leggett and Platt, Lowe’s Home Centers, Meggitt Training Systems, Meggitt Training Systems, Mopac Plant and Building Services, Nisshinbo Automotive Manufacturing, Numarket Enterprises, Sears-Northlake Mall, The Art Institute, The Myers Group, The Vet Center-Lawrenceville, U.S. Navy Reserve, U.S. Secret Service, United Parcel Service, and Well Fargo Bank.
