
The community is invited to support its special athletes tomorrow in the much anticipated Walton County Special Olympic games. These will take place tomorrow at Monroe Area High School. The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with the parade of athletes through town. Line up is at 9:15 a.m. at the First Methodist Church of Monroe.
Opening Ceremonies for the games are at 10:45 a.m. at Monroe Area High School. The Olympic Town will be open for all to enjoy and organizers are asking the community to plan a day out supporting these athletes.
Lunch will be provided for each athlete and two family members and there will be concessions available for purchase for spectators. All proceeds from the concessions will benefit the Special Olympics.
